Lead Pastor – Rev. Emily Shughart

Reverend Emily Shughart joined Community of Faith on July 1, 2021.

Emily grew up in Ocala, Florida and attended the University of Florida, graduating with a BS in Agriculture Operations Management. After working in different youth ministry positions, she felt God’s calling to ordained ministry and moved to Georgia where she obtained a Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

Emily then served as Associate Pastor at First United Methodist Church, Orlando. During her service with the church, she met her husband, John. Once they were married, John followed God’s calling, and they moved to Durham, NC where John was a seminary student at Duke Divinity School. Emily and John have a toddler, Stevie Grace, who is the light and joy of their lives.

Rev. Emily and her family are enjoying being back in Florida continuing their journey at Community of Faith United Methodist Church.
