Freedom is about hope and generosity. In the midst of so much economic uncertainty we believe that our church can offer freedom for those who are trapped by the burden of debt, hope for those who feel hopeless, and to unleash a spirit of generosity to help the hurting in our church, our community, and our world.
That's why we are committed to offering these classes regularly each year.
Community of Faith has offered FPU for 8 years and we have seen life-changing results in families who have participated. Because we think finances can be a spiritual stronghold & a significant challenge for a lot of people, we as the church have a responsibility to address it head on, unapologetically, and with confidence of God’s direction and authority over this area in all our lives.
Some of the key reasons Community of Faith offers Financial Peace University is found in these alarming statistics.
1. Marital Problems - 37 percent (the highest rate) of marital problems derive from financial situations
2. Cash Flow - 70 percent of all consumers live paycheck to paycheck, meaning they run out of money before the end of the month
3. Savings - The average family would have to use a credit card to pay a $1,500 unexpected expense (ex: home or car repair).
4. Retirement - Nearly half of all Americans (46%) have less than $10,000 saved for their retirement.
Money managment is a problem that affects everyone, inside and outside of our church. Money is a serious subject, and God is serious about money, which is why we should study closely what he has to tell us.
